Our story

Meli’s love for baking began during her career as a Primary School teacher in which baking was a way to de-stress in the evenings or at weekends. The story began with her and her family moving to the UK and trying to start a new life. In the process of getting used to a new country, baking  cakes and breads at home and selling them to her neighbours and friends became a form of communication for her. Fast forward a couple of years, a career change, Mayya Bakery has become Meli’s dream job. Whilst Oguz works as a dentist, he also works for the bakery in his spare time, becoming the face of deliveries and shopping for Meli’s delicious products.

As an artisan bakery, we are extremely grateful to all of our customers and love to bake sourdough bread, pastries, lunches, good coffee and design the perfect cakes for you.
